IRJPL is a scholarly, open-access publisher based in Pakistan, committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic publishing across all its journals. Our editorial process ensures rigor, transparency, and integrity, while supporting editors in managing submissions efficiently through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

Editors play a critical role in upholding quality, promoting ethical research, and facilitating rapid dissemination of scholarly work.

Roles and Responsibilities

Editor-in-Chief / Section Editor-in-Chief

  • Oversees the journal’s overall editorial strategy and scope.

  • Makes final decisions on manuscript acceptance or rejection.

  • Ensures adherence to ethical standards, peer-review integrity, and publication policies.

Associate Editors / Editorial Board Members

  • Manage assigned manuscripts through the peer-review process.

  • Recommend decisions based on reviewer reports and manuscript quality.

  • Maintain confidentiality and impartiality throughout the review process.

Guest Editors / Topic Editors

  • Handle submissions for special issues or thematic collections.

  • Coordinate peer review with reviewers and report to the Editor-in-Chief.

  • Ensure special issue content meets journal standards and timelines.

Supporting Editors

  • Assist with editorial tasks, communication with authors and reviewers, and manuscript tracking.

  • Provide technical support for OJS workflows and publication processes.

Peer Review and Editorial Workflow

  • All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts.

  • Editors ensure reviewers are qualified, impartial, and adhere to ethical guidelines.

  • Editorial decisions are based on scientific merit, originality, relevance, and compliance with ethical standards.

  • Editors communicate decisions clearly and provide constructive feedback to authors.

  • Accepted manuscripts are managed through OJS for copyediting, English editing, typesetting, and online publication.

Ethical and Professional Standards

Editors must:

  • Follow ICMJE, COPE, and WAME guidelines.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all submissions.

  • Avoid conflicts of interest and disclose any potential biases.

  • Not use generative AI tools for editorial decision-making or to process manuscripts.
