Informed Consent Policy

IRABCS respects the rights, privacy, dignity, and autonomy of individuals participating in research. Authors must ensure that informed consent requirements are fulfilled whenever research involves human participants or identifiable personal information.

Participant Consent

Researchers must obtain informed consent from participants before conducting research involving human subjects where required.

Consent should be obtained through an appropriate process that explains the purpose of the research, procedures involved, potential risks and benefits, confidentiality protections, and the voluntary nature of participation.

Participants must have sufficient information to make an informed decision regarding participation.

Publication Consent

Additional consent may be required when manuscripts contain identifiable information, including photographs, clinical details, case reports, videos, recordings, genetic information, or other material that could reveal participant identity.

Authors must obtain permission for publication of such information and ensure that participants understand that published material may become publicly accessible.

Protection of Participant Privacy

Authors must remove unnecessary identifying information from manuscripts whenever possible.

Personal information should not be disclosed unless scientifically necessary and appropriate consent has been obtained.

Editors may request evidence of consent where concerns regarding privacy or participant protection arise.

Case Reports and Special Circumstances

Case reports and studies involving individual participants require particular attention to confidentiality and consent.

Authors should ensure that individuals cannot be identified through combinations of demographic details, clinical information, images, or other published materials.
