Pre-operative patients frequently suffer from depression and anxiety, which can negatively influence their general health and perhaps have an impact on the success of their surgery. Symptoms of depression and anxiety are present in a considerable number of individuals prior to surgery. The types of surgeries, the features of the individual, and underlying medical issues all affect the prevalence rates. From June 2024 to March 2025, the latest study was conducted in the Microbiology study Laboratory (MRL) of the Department of Pathology PIMS Islamabad and in Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology. The preoperative anxiety and depression of patients at Pakistan's Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology were the main focus of this investigation. Preoperative heart surgery patients at the Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology. From the FIC pre-operative evaluation clinics or wards, a representative sample of pre-operative patients was selected. Based on the expected prevalence of anxiety and depression as well as the required accuracy level of 100, the sample size was calculated. The study discovered that the distribution of subjects among the 55 adult patients was evenly distributed. The internal consistency of both surveys was strong, with Cronbach's alpha scores of 0.85 and 0.93. There were significant differences between the groups with high trait anxiety and those with normal anxiety levels (p < 0.05) in the situational anxiety ratings obtained from the questionnaires. Remarkably, the only patient-related factor that had a significant impact on the anxiety levels was female sex (p < 0.05). In addition, it was shown that younger girls and females with previous experience under general anesthesia had higher anxiety levels than their male counterparts when additional patient characteristics were stratified by sex. In summary, our research revealed patient-related variables that impact anxiety before to surgery and showed results that were consistent with the Korean translation of the surveys. Notably, there was a notable difference in worry about future occurrences between the sexes, which might be attributed to a mix of biological and psychological causes.
